Things I Care About supports: Well Small Animal Rescue About WSAR. (from their Facebook page)
I first started rescuing animals back in the early 80's and over the years have re-homed many cats and rabbits and the occasional dog. In 2012, I decided to take voluntary redundancy from the college I had worked at for 10 years as a support worker for young people with learning difficulties, to concentrate on the animal rescue.
We live a vegan lifestyle, growing our own vegetables for myself and the animals, and recycle when we can. We have rescued and rehomed pigs, goats, rabbits, chickens, dogs and cats, we moved from rural Lincolnshire to a small village in Cambridgeshire in 2014 but sadly due to planning regulations and being unable to secure accommodation for ourselves and our poor living conditions we were forced to close and rehome the majority of the animals in early 2015. We are now back in Lincolnshire and have limited space but are able to continue with small animal rescue (cats, kittens, rodents, rabbits) on a small scale. We are a non-profit making sanctuary relying solely on donations and fund raising events such as online auctions and garage/car boot sales to raise funds for veterinary bills, upkeep and neutering to keep going.
We are a NO KILL - NO BREEDING and we also trap, neuter and release (TNR) cats from local feral colonies when required.. When a cat or kitten comes in to our care we owe it to do the best that we can to ensure from that day on it will be cared for properly. Most of the cats and kittens we take in are unwanted and have had miserable lives, to ensure they all leave us for excellent homes for we have a re-homing criteria for anyone wishing to adopt.
